Sheabutter is a plant fat extracted from the African Shea Tree which is found mostly in West Africa. It is commonly called 'Ori'. It is a very good remedy for natural hair. Grooming our typical kinky natural hair can be a task for some of us and finding the best ingredients and products to take care of natural African textured hair may not come easy. The predominant products out there were basically made for non-kinky hair types. There are lots of ladies who are going natural and most do no want to apply chemical product like relaxers to make their easier to work with. That is why is always recommend you go for organic and non processed ingredients if you you trying to groom your natural hair.
I have been using natural unprocessed raw sheabutter on my natural hair for about 5 years consistently and I discovered that ori (raw shea butter) helps to thicken and give more volume to the hair. I have a really thick and kinky type of hair and it gets a little difficult to comb through and I always ended up using relaxer to soften it which ends up breaking my hair and making it excessively scanty and light. But after using ori for a while I noticed my hair getting thicker, softer and having more volume.
If you're going natural or you already are, then these are some of the reasons
why natural ori (unprocessed rea sheabutter) is good for your natural hair:
GIVES VOLUME : Ori helps to restore volume to hair as a result of breakage from both natural and chemical processes.
REPAIRS DAMAGED HAIR : Ori helps to repair damaged hair from chemicals like dyes, relaxers and extreme heat.
MOISTURISER : Ori is a good moisturiser and it helps to soften, give a natural shine and gloss to natural hair.
TO SOOTHE IRRITATED SCALP: Ori helps to soothe irritated scalp and also itching from dandruff .
HEAT APPLICATION : Ori absorbs into the hair easily and it's a good protectant against heat. Rub on hair before applying any form of direct heat like hot iron, hair dryer and even direct sunlight.
GOOD SEALANT : Ori can be used on hair to seal and lock in moisture from other hair care products . All you have to do is apply Ori as the last item, after the other products .
