RESTAURANT REVIEW: CASPER & GAMBINI'S VICTORIA ISLAND, LAGOS

Hi,

Happy independence Nigeria, not like i'm totally proud to be Nigerian at this point in time. Naija hasn't given me anything to be proud of anyway.
That aside, yeah! It's another week coming to an end and it's always exciting bbecause it's the weekend.

LOCATION
I was at this restaurant a few days ago, Casper and Gambini's In Victoria Island. It's close to Spice Route and Mitsubishi show room, at Agoro Odiyan street, off Adeola Odeku. I checked it out with my friend. It was relatively late like 11pm/12am.

AMBIENCE / HOSPITALITY
It's a nice place with an earthy and homely kitchen-inspired interior and beautiful ambience. The waiters were polite and really courteous. They have an extensive and impressive menu, from starters to house special main course. Took me a while to pick my choice. The bush girl in me was looking for something familiar, lol. That's why most times, i'd rather stick to my seafood specialty. It's quick and popular in all restaurants.

 MENU / QUALITY
Before our meal arrived, we were given complementary basket of bread sticks and bread. We had crunchy seafood basket -calamari, prawns for starters dipped in a white sauce. My friend picked chicken escalop with a creamy white sauce and mashed potatoes. I picked suya prawns and white rice for main course. The food came in and it was heavenly. The chicken escalop tasted heavenly. Haven't had something that tasted so nice in a long time. Been on my eba and soups for weeks now. I was so into my food and I forgot to snap plenty pictures as usual.

PRICING
The price for the food were relatively normal and average for restaurants pricing on the island, though not so cheap. If you intend to have starters, main and desert, then ensure at least 20k is in your wallet for one person. Took only pictures of our food. I noticed on the table, a display showing that Jumia.com has a food delivery plan with them. That's impressive.

SERVICE DELIVERY
It took a while for the food to arrive though and I was getting pissed. The waiter kept apologising, saying it would be delivered in 5minutes time. But when it came, it was worth it because I enjoyed it.

VERDICT/ RECOMMENDATION
I would definitely come back again and try some other food on their menu. They need to step up their game on timing. If you say the food will be ready in 10minutes, please stick to your 10 minutes.
